Recreational Division DRESS CODE

Preschool Programs

  • Rainbow Rhythms & Jitterbugs:
    Clothing:
    Option 1: Any colour leotard with leggings, shorts, or tights*.
    *Tights must be footless unless wearing ballet slippers.
    Option 2: Any colour t-shirt and shorts.
    Footwear:
    Ballet slippers or bare feet.
    Hair tied back.
  • Hip Hop Boppers:
    Clothing:
    Option 1: Any colour t-shirt and leggings, shorts, or sweatpants.
    Option 2: Any colour leotard with leggings or shorts.
    Footwear:
    Non-marking running shoes for in-studio use ONLY.
    Hair tied back.
  • Steps and Jazz/Tap:
    Clothing:
    Option 1: Any colour leotard, ballet pink tights or ankle socks.
    Option 2: Any colour t-shirt and shorts.
    Footwear:
    For Option 1: Pink ballet slippers and black tap shoes.
    For Option 2: Black ballet slippers and black tap shoes.
    Hair tied back.

Ballet

  • Clothing:
    Option 1: Any style black leotard and ballet pink tights.
    Option 2: White t-shirt, black tights or shorts.
    Footwear:
    For Option 1: Pink ballet slippers.
    For Option 2: Black ballet slippers.
    Hair:
    Styled in a classical ballet bun using both a hair net and hairpins. Short hair must be held back with a headband.

Jazz / Lyrical / Tap / Contemporary / Acro / Musical Theatre

  • Clothing:
    All dancers must wear suitable dance wear. This includes leotards with tights or dance pants; tank top with dance shorts. Black is the recommended colour for your dance gear.
    Footwear:
    Jazz: Black jazz shoes.
    Lyrical: Beige jazz shoe or bare feet as required by the instructor.
    Contemporary: Barefoot.
    Musical Theatre: Black jazz shoe or bare feet as required by the instructor.
    Tap: Full sole black tap shoes.
    Acro: Barefoot.
    Hair must be tied back or held back with a headband.

Hip Hop

  • Clothing:
    Loose, comfortable clothing, such as sweatpants and a t-shirt.
    Footwear:
    Non-marking running shoes for in studio use ONLY.
    Hair must be tied back or held back with a headband.

AERIAL /SILKS

  • Clothing:
    Any bodysuit and leggings or a full length unitard.
    Footwear:
    Bare feet.
    Hair must be tied back or held back with a headband.
    No fake nails are permitted for safety reasons.
